I have a very pleasing example that has just been given to me of a 1925 1/2 penny. However I can't tell if it is the modified head or not, I suspect it may well be due to the fact George's head isn't on the reverse, but I'm still not sure. Are there any other tell-tale signs ?
Several of them have a much wider spacing between the two dots on the ME type. Also the beading around the edge of the obverse is much more pronounced. If you have another 1920's type I to compare with you can quite easily tell the difference.
The lower relief was introduced on pennys in 1926 but halfpennys were struck with both effigys in 1925, the type II ME being slightly less common.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like you have a type II ME. Look at the colon after "IMP" and you can see the inner dot extends below the base of the "P".
