Help Identifying this 1730 1/24 Thaler

8 berichten • 74 keer bekeken

I purchased this 1730-ILR Germany Brandenburg-Bayreuth 1/24 Thaler recently and I am having issues matching it to anything online. There’s 4 on this website that use the same design. The first link is the closest I’ve found but the lettering around the obverse and reverse aren’t correct. The one I purchased is also 1730 and the one that it matches the closest to was minted 1712-1726 according to this website (could the mint dates be wrong?). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pics of the actual coin included. All links below.

Closest match (obverse and reverse wording don’t match and thicker orb on reverse):

N#158402

Similar designs:

N#167376

N#396776

N#19273

That is because this coin is not listed yet it is under this type make a addition request via this link https://en.numista.com/catalogue/contributions/nouveau.php?type=coin with the true view images cropped and I will help you with anything needed to be edited and make modification requests from there.

Cool! Thank you. True View images? Please explain. Isn’t that only through PCGS?

Oh ok just they to take the best pics possible of it then it would be the images that pcgs might have put for iron it’s page but it seems they did not this time

Can I upload high res images of the coin? I have access to a mirrorless Nikon Z7. Would that work?

Go ahead as long as the photos are not just blurry sh*t and they are cropped and in jpeg format they will be accepted

Even if they are not circle cropped its alright (to crop guys are fast), most important is a nice in focus top down image.
