India Princely States

Hi.

I've got 2 old coins, most probably from Indian Princely States which I'm not able to identify.

I got this coin from my uncle in early 1980's.  On checking with PMI, its 99.8% copper.

I recently got this square coin as a freebie from a flea market seller when I got a lot of small denomination 20th century world coins.  On checking with PMI, this one is 95.8% copper, 0.5% zinc and balance other metals.

Thanks.

Welcome to Numista!

The first coin is from Nawanagar, similar to this one, with frozen date AH (9)78. Many varieties of this coin were made for over 200 years.

As described in the guidelines, it's best practice to include the maximum diameter to the nearest mm and weight to the nearest tenth of a gram with ID requests.

Thanks @Seeker55 for the identification.

For the Nawanagar coin, max diameter is 17 mm and min diameter is 15 mm.

For the other square coin, the sides are 21 mm long.

Unfortunately, I do not have a precise weighing scale for the coins.  I'll get it done at a jeweller today.

2 is a possible religous token
