The first is an evocation of Tian han, the first era of Wang Jian (only one year : 917 AD) during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the founder of the Former Shu Kingdom.
Genuine coins are smaller, some with crescent but not with dot
and … for coins older than a millenium, they look older than yours.
Look to this valuable following exemple “with rosette” !
The second evoques Tai Ping (976-983) the first era of Tai Zong of the Northern Song dynasty.
Some of these coins have a crescent on reverse but there was no coin with “天” (sky?)
The only large coin was in iron (I let you imagine the current state of conservation …), with a dot on reverse,. It was equivalent to 3 cash and is extremely rare nowaday.
To decipher what the manufacturer wanted to express, it may take more time. With pleasure ... I would call it a “Chinoiserie” in French 🤣
Merci pour informations!
So all are fantasy coins. Strange but for me looks like a modern fantasy coins not contemporary fakes. If I look more closely are made from modern bronze as 10 cash coins.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge I really appreciated.
According to these Korean blogs, It's a commemorative coin with 국보민안(國保民安) on the front and 명심수덕(明心修德) on the back, cast in the Gojong Era (1897). It is said that the coin was made to commemorate the King Gojong's crowning as an Emperor. It was sold for around $200 in 2022.
The writing on the coin is a Confucian saying that means:
(If a King is to) have his nation protected and his subjects kept comfortable, (then he must) polish his mind and work on improving his virtues.
