The date reads 1852 on the coin but I'm not entirely sure, will check and get backAlright - thank you. I've been wondering about this coin for AGES and never thought about using this site.. Ya if you could figure out the date that would be amazing.

I'm used to seeing Vikram Samvat dates on Nepal coins so this one threw me off track - it actually has a Gregorian date on the coin alright so 1895

Yes, VS 1952 / 1895 AD, which makes sense because "Prithvi Bir Bikram" ruled from 1875 - 1911 AD. During his time (in 1888 AD) Nepal switched calendars from the Saka era calendar to the Vikram Samvat calendar
