Interesting item made from coins

I bought this spoon today, It's made from 2 Netherlands silver coins. A 1937 2½ Guilder and a 1939 25c.

Who else has interesting things made from or with coins?

Any idea what this spoon was for? Was it for something specific or did someone just have the idea to make something neat?

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

Cutlery made of sterling silver used to be a sign of wealth for a household. Using a silver spoon for soup can add a metallic flavour to the taste of the soup.

I have seen several different of these altered silver coin spoons through the years and they have mainly been used for adding sugar to beverages - tea or coffee.

For a different use I have also seen countless of different silver coins that were altered into brooches - a web search will reveal the diversity.

The finest coin brooches in my opinion are the ones where the surroundings of the portrait has been removed to make it look more like a brooch in nature, like shown in this image (borrowed from the internet):

I don't know, I was wondered the same thing. I thought that maybe it was for getting tea out of a caddy, but the handle seems a bit long for that.

I bought 2 more coin spoons today. Compared to the Dutch one they are tiny.

They are both made out of King Edward VII India 2 Anna (N#18621) coins.
