Hello,
I have found this UK £2 and online
some of them are selling for £100s online!
Please could someone confirm and value my coin?
Thank you coin community!
It's worth face value.
What exactly makes this one “rare”? They made over 6,000,000 of them and this one is well circulated.
There are no confirmed error variants for this coin and “edge writing is upside down” does not make it an error.
You could also question why auction runners with five error coins in a single auction are playing on ebay and not on lottery. With their luck they will win lottery in no time.
I have three of them I am about to send to a charity along with a load of other commemoratives I don't want 😬 looking at the ebay prices perhaps I should be selling them on there and buy an island in the sun and retire!
Or just report the sellers to the site they are selling their scams.

Is it really a scam? This seller made no claims such as “rare” or “mint error” or anything else that were false. Or does selling it for £5,000.00 or Best Offer in and of itself make it a scam?
Insanely overpriced in my mind is indeed a scam and we can discuss the legal aspects of the intent of the seller all day long. Do we really need lawyers to settle everything? Just look at all the claims of “error coins” for sale. I have reported items / sellers like these and it is a hit or miss depending on the site. Sometimes they disappear and sometimes not. Regardless, it is advisable to let the site know about these kinds of listings and it is then in their hands. Ultimately they will hear from a buyer who realizes they made a very poor decision and then of course expect the site to settle the matter between the seller and the buyer. Deal with it now or later. Their choice. Here at Numista, we have the “report” option as well, for very good reasons. It is then in the hands of the Numista gods.
