I have this coin dated 1361 but the catalog says it only ran up to 1360. The photo example however also shows 1361. Does anybody know if this is a catalog error or maybe a fake coin ?

Welcome to Numista!  You're confusing the AD date on the coin with the AH date.

Or when you really have a 1361 you maybe mixed up with another coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces8864.html the only Egyptian coin with 1361 as date.

Always provide pictures, it will always make it easier for everyone.

I thought that might be the case too but while the obverses are similar the reverses are so different I didn't think the OP would have mixed them up.

I fixed your link.

Wow you guys are quick I found the coin in the link by searching on 1361 but my coin is the same as the 1360 listing

I just got an email from Dr Teek it seems it's a 1360 coin the year looks like 1361 but I guess that translates to 1360 (1941).

Thank you, but strange. While I was typing my text I've put a comma after the link to start the second part of my sentence, but I saw the comma turned blue, so I was afraid that would broke the link so I deleted the comma again. As you can see on my link there's no comma there but when you click on it the comma shows up again. Strange.

And yes, I also thought the OP wouldn't mix up the two coins because of that different reverse, but he was talking about a 1361 so I gave the link anyway, just in case.

Why do you think it looks like a 1361? It's so clear it's a 1360 I don't understand you get confused.

If it was a 1361 the last digit must be the same as the first one. There's no confusion possible.

Because I looked at this. We aren't all experts here on Numista

When you add a coin page link it gets translated into a link against the whole text. So once you added it with the comma this is what the link becomes

Even though you deleted the comma in the text the actual underlying link remained the same.

Dr. Teek should post replies on the forum. Would save everyone else from spending the time to reply.

I'm sorry, I absolutely didn't want to be derogatory and I'm certainly not an expert either. I just wanted to help you but I just didn't understand how you could be confused. I just didn't take it in consideration that you would read the date upside down, so now I understand how you got confused.

I sincerely appreciate the help. I have a collection of a few thousand coins and am new to Numista but want to catalogue them all so I know what I have before I sell my collection. I must admit Numista is amazing I wish I had come across it before

Hahaha, that was one of my first thoughts too almost ten years ago, I've also wished I had discovered Numista sooner. And I'll probably stay here till I die.

Take your time, please, we need you🥲
