Hi,

I recently purchased an example of this type and am wondering if anyone has any more information about this medal's origins, please?
As I would be very interested to learn more.

I know it was struck in the building of the Great Exhibition since it says so on the medal itself - but does anyone know anything more specific than that? E.g., was there a particular stall that was striking these for people as souvenirs? Were they given out for any particular reason? Or anything else you happen to know about this medal.

Thanks so much in advance!

I quick Google Search about the engraver produced this helpful article:

I should have probably done the search before posting 😅 but once I've already put the post up, I figured I may as well leave it up and include the link for ease of reference for anyone who comes across the post in future.

If anyone has any other info. they'd like to add, please feel free to do so all the same :)
Thank you very much!
