Hallmark ID [opgelost]

So I get zero marks on observation just realised an item I have has a hallmark/mint stamp on it… making me wonder about its composition

Anybody any good with these things?

It does mean one thing to me the item I thought I had I don't have but I have a variation of the item I thought I had 🤪 which would mean a new listing that I need to do….. I pity the referees on here since I joined they need a medal of their own for sorting out my mess!

Please be gentle I am new to coin collecting and have run out of chocolate

Think I may have solved it …. definitely need somebody to double check though.

Makers mark for Birmingham Mint

This may help.

Thanks RSirian1

Yup need to do another new page its a variant of the one already on here … but will contact the person who listed the first one if they are still a member and ask them to double check theirs hasn't got this on the edge as I missed it originally in which case their item is silver also but they don't list any metal so perhaps don't know.

Just like the place I purchased mine from obviously hadn't noticed it or it would have cost me a heck of a lot more than it did 🤔 I got it because I just really liked the detail.

Original poster of the other variation hasn't logged in for over a year and last post on forum by them was back in July 2013 😐

What is the other one?

Medal - Spanish Armada 400th Anniversary - United Kingdom – Numista

I was going to add the thickness and weight

Then double checked the diameter mine is 50.75 not 39mm

Thickness is 4.7mm

Popped it on my coin scale which straight away said it was too heavy to weigh on there so out came my digital kitchen scale saying its 78gms

but those scales only measure full grams so not totally accurate as they are for baking obviously. Need another coin scale by the looks of it that can weigh higher. Good excuse to add the uv light I saw to the shopping list at the same time lol.

Anyway mine also has the number stamped on the edge of it further along to correlate to the certificate of which number of issue the item is.

I marked mine as XF as there is a black dot on the rim side and if you look at the hallmark picture the rim has tiny little grazes/scratches, ok so perhaps I am over zealous and its a higher grade but its defo not lower than that grade so I'm ok with that grade thought.
