Good morning,
first of all I congratulate you again for the wonderful site and regardless of what I write after, I want to underline that in most cases I have met excellent people.
Lately, however, I am a little disappointed by behavior arrogant, rude, low-collectors and higly profiteers which damege the image of a site too.
My proposal is that in addition to the judgment with the stars post-swap, there is the possibility of entering judgments readable, like the "Comments", but public.
This would allow to have an idea of the people before making or accepting a request.
Personally I do not apprehend it, in fact it would make me only pleasure and prefer a disadvantageous swap with a gentleman rather than one profitable with a rude.
Thanks for your time and sorry for my bad English.
Luca
Buongiorno,
Luca
Your concerns are widely shared, there has been much discussion on the English speaking forum about recent problems. A lot of members have voiced similar issues with rude, dishonest or just plain low brow collectors.
A large part of the problem is that the Numista Team Members do not have any real authority to deal with problem members. This is about to change and hopefully this will lead to improved conduct and the removal of the serial offenders.
Give it a little time before making any hasty decisions.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
Luca,
Your position is not only shared with the members but also with the team. We know we need changes and soon we'll be getting them. It is a waiting game!
The chances of everything being perfect are slim to none. For me, it would be sort of like trying to make the Italian Post honest. Any chance we can figure out a rating system informing people with relatives in Italy, of which days the thieves are working and when they are on their long vacations?
Hello, thank you for your participation.
I am heartened to know I'm not the only one and you're thinking about a solution. Thank you.
There is a risk that Numista unfortunately become ever more "eBay" and I always meet less pure collectors and saddens me.
I know well that it is impossible to select members.
If it were possible that I proposed, or something like that, I would have a chance to see if the person who contacts me is a collector or a businessman, if you want to exchange or sell, if in a hurry or patience, polite or rude, apart from the fact that the exchanges are successful (rating).
It's all and I thank you.
PS - you forgot to say, or maybe you don't know, that the Italian post office are not only bad, but also very expensive!!!
Citeer: l.luca... the Italian post office are not only bad, but also very expensive!!!
Someone has to pay for their insurance payouts to customers. Don't worry, it is also more expensive to send insured to Italy (or any country where parcels disappear frequently) because of the amount of yearly claims on record. In other words, we're all paying for it.
I accept the joke, but I live near Brescia and I have always received the coins ... here is ... I told you ... something bad is going to happen now!
In contrast, of 82 swaps, 4 have not received my coins. 3 of these 4, from January 2013 to the present!!!
Sometimes, it's the countries you send to. For example, who do you blame when the parcel is shipped between Italy and Poland. Might as well toss a coin. Registered only! That does get expensive if € is the currency used by the post office.
torontokuba, I understand that you're burned by the Italian post office, but I have sent registered mail in Brazil (€ 9!) and Romania (€ 6!), the parcel was lost after crossing the border and we do not know anything .
I asked the Italian post office for a refund and was useless because it was lost in another country... but I paid the Italian post office... just that it is a shame!
Every time I sent the coins twice.
For this reason, no longer use the registered mail, but only the regular.
I agree with you that someone has to pay for this ... for now I pay! Also for this reason I do not want to feel responsible for a questionable service ... (not all vote for Berlusconi in Italy, but they are represented ... is sad).
If it is as you say, we are the first to be penalized (do not speak only of Berlusconi, but the postal service too! ) And I personally do my best to fix it.
It's a hard world!
Citeer: l.luca... I have sent registered mail in Brazil (€ 9!) and Romania (€ 6!), the parcel was lost after crossing the border and we do not know anything .
Really, they steal the registered, thinking it's more valuable? I've had that happen twice, one registered envelope was lost and one arrived cut along the edge and empty. This was not from Italy. That's what I'm saying, it's not always Italy at fault, when you send to another dishonest country's postal service. Those are some expensive registered packages. That's why I try to be very selective when I swap. It means less swaps, but I don't have much aggravation.
Yes, I've been burned many times by the Italian post. It's not even coins and it's not registered. They open things, make up charges on the spot for the individual receiving the package, lost letters, photos, etc. They are awful. We now send to relatives in another EU country and the individual picks it up when he visits them once or twice a year. Pathetic, isn't it? I don't follow Italian politics, last I heard, there was something in the news about an album of love songs?
Hello everyone, I know ... I'm really boring.
I am attaching a good example to highlight what I proposed. MISTER X has a good rated.
In the best case, MISTER X did not send the coins because it was waiting for the arrival of mine, lost, perhaps, in his country. If not specified it seems a good rule that you send at the same time.
I do not want to give a negative rated to MISTER X because he would do the same and I would ruin my reputation.
I do not think that MISTER X is a thief, and I do not think you deserve a "zero stars", but it seems to me right to let everyone know, before accepting a swap with him, that he expects your coins before shipping and lives in a country at risk.
I swear, I will not disturb you anymore. Thank you.
Luca
Grazie.
Luca

Hi, thanks for the proposal.
I marked 3 coins, but it's a shame only 3 for the cost of shipping. Are you interested other in other coins in my double list?
Best regards.
Luca
I can guarantee you that at least part of the problems will be fixed. Soon.

Hello Luca,
If you are disapointed by the behavior of your swap partner, you can mention it in the comments of your swap rating. A 4-star rating is not considered as a negative feedback, and it could be used to express a satisfying swap with an unsatisfying member.
Tinfoil and cardboard, heh? I really hate dishonest people in the post office... It's looking like I'll be losing 2 more packages due to "poor Packing." Didn't bloomin' make it Alien proof.
