Could someone with expertise in India coins help me determine the type and date of this coin?  It is silver and weighs 11.27 grams. It measures 22mm.

My best guess is it is an India Mughal KM#235.20 with a regal year of 14 which would make it an AH 1050 or 1051 (1640-1641).  I could not see a year on the reverse to confirm that.

Where are you seeing RY 14 on your coin?

Vic

At the top of the obverse.  At least it looks like a 14 to me.

You re looking at some of the script which is upside down, at the bottom of the square is shah jahan and regnal year 10 in the middle

So the RY 10 is beneath the mark that sort of looks like the Nike swoosh trademark?

Yes, it's part of the word ghazi and ry 10 is underneath the centre of it, it's common to see the ry and date squeezed into odd places for shah jahan

Geez, thanks for sharing your expertise…I never would have guessed that.  Do you see a date to correspond with the RY (1046 or 1047)?

Did I type the coin correctly…Patna mint, etc.?

If you look at the coin on your Numista link you will see the RY (12) is in the same place , the mint is Patna but can't see the date on yours

So, just so I understand, it is a KM#235.20 (Patna) RY 10, but the exact date is unreadable?

How are you with old Afghanistan coins?  I have one of those I am not sure of either.
