Judging by the small outer circles it is Abbasid. Wondering if anyone has a good direction I should search. Copper. 2.5g 17mm

Unfortunately there is not  much detail remaining to get very specific but yes I agree generally - Islamic states, likely Abbasid but I wouldn't rule out Umayyad Caliphate. I searched with your parameters but with your composition/weight/diameter information I could only find similar coins but no exact matches.
