I checked through some of my past PCGS submissions and I estimate that someone spent at least $80-$90 (not including the PCGS membership fee itself) to get it graded. (That's if they tried to do it themselves.) If they used a coin dealer to submit it on their behalf, their fixed costs would have been substantially lower . . . but definitely still not worth it to grade a coin like this.
I also checked Greysheet pricing and they list a value of $2.
Hi everyone. Thanks for the quick reply. Thank you very much. Of course I was surprised by the report on the coins and of course it cost me more than $20 and I tried to enter some sites to check where their response was good which encouraged me to send it to PCGS. Anyway I also sent some coins for review where their response was the opposite of what they described to me some sites that they are good and have some errors in the mint mark unless their response is that there are no errors although the error is very clear to everyone. Thank you very much if you do not mind sending some coins to make sure of that. Thank you very much for the
Frankly, I am surprised this got a VF20 grade. Seems a little generous to me. I have to go through my war nickels again and reconsider my grading on them.
Hi, Really, friends, you should review all the coins to make sure of some errors, as it happened to me more than once for some sites, even though the error is clear to the naked eye. Good luck.
You keep claiming there is an obvious “error” on the P that apparently neither anyone here or the professionals at PCGS sees. What you need to do is tell us specifically what “error” you see that nobody else does. Do not make claims that you cannot substantiate. I see absolutely no errors on this very worn U.S. war nickel. None.
You are really right. There is no error in the mentioned coins. I just wanted to know the evaluation, but in some of the coins, the errors were not mentioned in detail.
Is that a lamination over the “P” on the reverse?
I think so, and some sites also confirmed that it was made during World War II, so I sent it for evaluation according to the year of manufacture, and it may also be a rare work.
