a fairly well-known seller offers this coin, but after experience with Mexican coins, please advise. I circled one place that I don't think is right. Thank you
Thank you, and can you now send an image like the above but without any markings in white or black? I think you have found a variant and I would like to document it.
I love tje fact you chose the colour white to mark something on a silver coin photographed under a lamp, so all details gives away a small white shimmer. Personally I would've chosen blue or red.
Thank you for your time. So you think it's not a fake, that it's just a variety? I can't say, I just looked to see if the coin was fake, exactly the same way I do with other coins and found this difference. Thank you all and if there is any other idea, I'd be happy.
Here it is, it might intentionally damage on your coin, we have no means to establish that? I didn't find any coin on internet resembling yours.
Here is the documentation:
Please, let us have more opinions of this “variety”?
I think some Macro photos, high resolution with varying directions of lighting around this area would easily establish if this was Post mint damage or not…

What i worry about is that they (the grooves in the leaf) seem to be slightly duller, on the reflective side, than other reflections on the coin. This could be a hint that these small grooves have been added with a small screwdriver or similar blunt object in a strike, compressing the metal, as opposed to a scratch which would tear, split or remove trace amounts of the surface, thus leaving it slightly shinier when reflecting light. The other possibility is that they are scratches and they have been dulled down by something accumulating there and not reflecting the light out in the same way.
Only more images will help clear this up. But, ever the sceptic I am, I doubt this is a one of a kind variety that has never been documented since 1952. Open and hope to be proved wrong.
