Complete newbie to all things coin I hope my questions aren't too goofy. A neighbor recently found a smattering of coins at the bottom of her safe deposit box along with some old two dollar bills from 1963 and some one dollar silver certificates. The gold and silver I can figure out but how do I sell at a fair price? Is a mistruck penny worth a penny or ten bucks? The phone app said the penny was in perfect shape so I don't trust them.The 1959 and 1965 mint sets still plastic wrapped with the envelopes from the treasury dept are neat but pretty commonly seen I would think.The rest odd peace dollars morgan dollars rolls of never circulated 1964 JFK half dollars some other stuff. Never saw a real bad penny before although I've known a few. Could the penny be worth anything from the eighties part of the date is missing. Thanks
Sounds like a filled die error on the penny. Only one digit missing? Not unusual when the mint makes 130 billion of them. You might get a slight premium for it if it's in top notch condition.
