Far too much wear on Lady Liberty and the eagle to be an XF. Low end of VF is more appropriate, IMHO.

But I'm a pessimistic grader.

Never ….you saw the luster ??? And details of the back …??? Watch what is …Is almost au

From this what i can see you have no clue with grading .

Low end of VF os a joke

..better not say nothing …go grading photos  study before you talk madmes or go ebay

you are pessimistic grader  ..... and I am too optimistic grader 😀but I will send ngc and see who was closer 😀😀

US coins are easily photo gradable and yours doesn't look like a Sheldon XF (the hand and eagle breast seem to far gone) but definitely not a descriptive EF.

I may be a pessimistic grader, but I also find that NGC is a very optimistic grader, and I'm not alone in thinking that.

Obverse: left breast and some of the striped pattern on the dress erased.

Reverse: feathers on the chest, neck, and right wing of the eagle gone.

Luster doesn't compensate for wear.

I personally think that how to give a grade also depends on the age and size of the coin.. copper coins degrade for example. For this reason, sometimes a worn copper one has a grade of XF
