Canadian 1966 , 50 cent & dollar

Hello. My dad had these tucked away. I am just wondering…I do not see anything special about them. If anyone does could you please point out to me

Special? They're both .800 silver worth in melt value today US $19.51 and $9.75.

Sorry, I should have been specific. The way he had them separated from other silver coins I wondered if they might have errors, special serial numbers 

The ½ dollar looks like it might have a planchet lamination error. Hard to tell anything on the dollar without in focused pictures.
