Title: e.g. “1967 French 10 Centimes – Possible Mint Error (Overstrike?)”

4 berichten • 45 keer bekeken

Hello, I found this 1967 French 10 centimes coin with what appears to be an unusual design or doubling over the face.
It looks like a possible overstrike or minting error.
I’ve attached clear photos of both sides

Hello. All I see is a badly damaged coin. Perhaps you could point out where you see doubling?

Thank you for your response  I'v looked closely at the obverse (Marianna's face) , and I notice what appears to be extra lines or impressions around the check, and near the edge - they don't seem like natural wear. it reminded me of a possible die clash or double strike, but i'm open to the idea it may be damage.

I 've attached a close-up of the area in question.

please let me know your thoughts - I'm still learning to tell the difference between damage and minting errors. Appreciate your help.

Thank You

Your coin does not have natural wear, but unnatural mechanical post mint damage (PMD). I see nothing indication something occurring at the mint.  At this point, even if there was, it would be rendered valueless by the PMD.
