With 2026 and the US 250th anniversary only months away, there are new commemorative designs coming for all denominations. These designs were originally proposed back in 2024 and I'm sure some of the have already been decided on. Articles covering the proposed designs:

2026 designs are here, they kept the proposed dime design (which looks great), but the quarter series was mostly changed from the proposed designs. They even changed themes: abolitionism, suffrage, and civil rights are out; Mayflower compact, Revolutionary War, and Gettysburg Address are in. And I guess they couldn't handle not having presidents on the obverse, which is a bummer (I loved the lady liberty constitution design). The half dollar design is good, probably not her best angle but I'd much rather have the statue of liberty on coins than the presidents.

Are they going to produce the pennies? I know they said they will until the blanks run out, but does that mean circulation pennies or just ones for mint and proof sets?

“The Mint will continue to produce numismatic versions of the penny in limited quantities for historical and collector purposes.”

And…

This video was uploaded by the Mint only 18 hours ago at the time of writing (and only 9027 views so far):

Introducing the U.S. Mint 2026 Semiquincentennial Circulating Coin Designs

No mention of the penny; no mention of the nickel either.

EDIT — In the video, unless I missed something, they consider the half dollar as a circulating coin. On this US Mint page they don't. It's together with the penny as collectible coins only. (Looks like the page where rsirian1 got his screenshot of all the coins.)

There are two commemorative dollar coins so far; none with Trump…

The nickel and the penny are not part of the Semiquincentennial coin act.  The Mint/Treasury Dept can change the design of them as they see fit.

This makes sense since they have not issued the halves for circulation for a long time. [Replying to your message before being edited.]

It's kind of unfortunate that they didn't wait just a bit longer to terminate the penny and have the special issue released as a circulating coin. That would have been a nice way to complete a penny collector's album.

As for Trump dollars: I was able to watch most of the Ken Burns and colleagues' “The American Revolution” on PBS. OK, there may be some idealizing of certain characters and events, but wow — what a difference between the current occupier of the White House and Washington and his immediate successors!

There should be one dollar coin authorize. Where did you see two?  As for the half dollar coin, I thought it would be a circulation coin.

I think he may be referring to these 2 that are advertised as being available in 2026 from the U.S. Mint's website:

The Native American $1 Coin is the one that always makes its way into the Annual sets.  So I hope the U.S. Mint sticks with tradition and includes that one in the Annual sets for 2026.

Thanks. I did know about them and the American Innovation coins for next year.

Yes, those are the two coins, and one of them carries the bell/250 mark.

In general the coins are pretty good, but I do have my criticisms! I'm sure that the dime is exactly what the American collectors want, for my taste it might even be approaching kitsch. Still not a bad coin! Quarters are fine as individual coins, I just wish that the obverse designs wouldn't have been just copies of previous coins or medals. The half dollar is by far my favourite! Penny and nickel are ok. I wonder what happens with the Trump dollar?

Хочу всё знать!

The inference is that the final design has not been determined yet, but it will be one of the three obverses and one of the eight reverses.

That's just for a new $2.50 coin and would still need senate approval. The bill to mint coins commemorating the semiquincentennial was passed in 2020 and signed into law in 2021.

The best part of that video is the comments.
