well from your text it is something commemorating the 1225 birthday of the city of Erfurt in Germany.
Deutsche Demokratische Republik means east Germany.
On value difficult to say without pictures or knowing the grade or metal of your token or medal.

I found something that looked similar listed on e-bay, reserve 9 euros.
