Ironically, the „buffalo“ Nickel should have developed the name „Indian head“ Nickel, due to the fact it has a portrait of an Indian on it, unfortunately the name had already been used commonly for the Cent which has a portrait of „liberty“ on it and was mistaken for an Indian portrait. Imagine the alternative reality where there was a „feathered headdress“ Cent and a „Indian head“ Nickel.
I mean seriously, it is clear that one is lady liberty wearing feathered headdress and the other is a Native American Indian!

I see your point, but the Indian head cent just looks like a white woman wearing a head dress, whereas the Buffale nickel looks like a more faithful and accurate depiction of an Indigenous American male.
