Good morning

There has been a new “Type” for the 20 Kwacha 2015, it does not fit with the current listing.  Can we please inform those who own this note (N#204029) to check if their note is actually part of the new type of or the original type.

The new type is N#554417 and the original type is N#204029.

Thanks

Hello, Philip!

Since the year is perfectly identifiable on the banknote, I believe we can transfer the users without problems. What I suggest is some identification on the title, something that differentiates the security element on the two banknotes.

The Pick code is only P#59 for all years, there is no P#59a. We can also use the TBB code to differentiate the issues: TBB#162 for the 2015 issue; TBB#168 for the other issues (2018-2022).

Please let me know if you agree so I can proceed with the transfer of the 2015 users.

Regards, Vladimir

Hi Vladimir

I agree, however I just wanted to ensure that there are not two types out there.

So yes, please transfer the users.  I will chnage the title, unless you have a suggestion.

Good evening Philip and Vladimir,

Philip supported me when doing the new page for the 20 Kwacha note N# 554417 . During my research referring to the Zambian banknote I found an official pdf file of the BoZ which clarified professionally and in more detail the occurence or better design change of all the Zambian banknotes (2,5,10,20,50 and 100) starting with the issueing year 2018. As a result it could be possible that you might consider introducing new pages for at least the remaining 10, 50 and 100 Kwacha notes of 2015, as you did for the 20 Kwacha already. For the 2 and 5  Kwacha notes there seem to be no major change of the security threads and colours allowing to go on with varieties as already done.

How can I get you the PDF file? I have enclosed a screenshot with the relevant adress in case no files could be sent directly.

With kind regards

Dirk

We need separate pages for 2015 and 2018-2022 for all denominations. The common differences are the marks for the visually-impaired. The 2015 notes have them only at the right, the 2018-2022 notes have them on the left and right. There are also colour changes on the 20, 50 and 100K notes. Images can be found here.
