Looks like silver’s unstoppable. Wonder how much higher it will climb.

It got “stopped” at $120 in the middle of Thursday January 29th 2006 and by the end of trading on Friday 30th, it was at $84 an ounce, which had recovered from the low point of $77 earlier on Friday. Silver lost 38% of its value in one day.

It will be interesting to see what the first week of February brings (Whole years were added, in case this thread is unearthed in say 2036 or 2049) like we all love unearthing threads from 2014.

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

IF it is a correction, where would a reversion-to-the-mean be? $50? 32? or is there farther to fall?

Or will it charge back up?

Either way, Im not changing my habits. I'm still fat dumb and happy at about $24.

I am planning a trip to a show in two weeks and Ill spend my budget on whatever I want.

Living near the sea, I am fond of certain seafoods, of which the price is volatile, and set in the market each morning.

the fish restaurants dont even bother to print dollar prices on menus, they just say “market price”.

They have a chalk board on the wall with the price they post each morning when they get back from the market.

Coin dealers have come to this. At the show I went to in January, a dealer I frequent told me he had spent a whole day going through all his boxes re-pricing, and you could see the white-out on the 2x2s.

Now he is going to have to do it all over again, or else advertise a big discount.

They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
