Hello!

I'm not familiar with US grading system, and I'd like help to grade these coins:

1) 1d 1936


2) 1/4d 1942


3) 1/2d 1948


4) 1d 1950


5) 1d 1951


And I'd like to know what you think of the KGVI coins toning :love:

All varying VF's, in my opinion.
Catalogue referee for British, English and Scottish coins.

Sorry manxcat12, I've got to slightly disagree with you:

1) F- (extensive wear and damage to obverse field)
2) VF+ (just a little too much wear to make XF)
3) XF- (good detail, nice toning, not sure about rim?)
4) VF- (reasonable detail, damage to rim take it down half a grade)
5) VF

All my own humble opinion of course, would be interested to hear others

I would mostly agree with Rick's grading, as for the toning they look as though they have been heated up or somewhere very hot as it doesn't look like natural toning.

Yeah, good call Tony. Now you've mentioned it and I had another look, the rainbow tones are there but they don't look natural.

Yes, maybe they aren't natural, but It's not me who did it! :D

Does it add value or not?
For the 1/4d, it's beautiful natural toning, does it add value?

In general, what value give you to these coins? Because the WC values seems too light for me...

I have bought quite a number of South African coins on eBay UK and have found the Krause values just a little low. Generally speaking, I reckon that if I used the same figure but made it in GBP instead of USD then it would be fairly close to what I was paying, give or take a little.

Rick your grades are spot on they wear on GV is worn in the places that according to Canadian coins grades it at around f but with the digs it would be a f- because the reverse brings it up !

Also rick you're right about the valuations with Krause NGC etc too !
