Hello friends, i propose to Add new field “Market value”, now I am using “buying value”, but it is not the same.

For example I have bought 200 Sk silver coins many years ago at the price 16€, but now market price (just spot price of silver) is more than 40€. Estimate values of my collection are based on “buying value” , but real values are much higher now.

thank you

regards

Tomas

Isn't that what the price indication is for? Results of past sales ( = market price) that gets increased if the underlying metal value increases.

Hello, another examples:

Slovakia 1939-1945 circulation non-silver coins.

10 halierov 1943,1942 :

my buying price many years ago = 3€
numista catalog price = 2,50-3,20€

real market price (local eshops) = 10€

5 korun 1939

my buying price many years ago = 3€
numista catalog price = 3€

real market price (local eshops) = 9€

Numista catalog prices ale calculated by “buying” prices which are lower

than real market prices now.

If there will be new field “market price” there I can add real price 9€

and also Numista catalog prices should be higher / closer to real prices.

This is same also for 20 halierov, 50 halierov, 1 koruna coins and others.

regards

Tomas

On problem your local market might have nothing to do with another market at the other end of the world.

The Numista value reflects a world market (heavily skewed towards USA and Europe). There are many issues with the Numista value (similar are catalog values anywhere), a non existing world market is just one of them but your proposal doesn't solve anything I am afraid.

You can only add as many new auction records as possible.

I prefer values based on buyer's input, like auctions. Not values driven by local shops who may not have much competition. The current system, looking at worldwide auctions, has its problems but seems better than the alternatives.
