Calipers

Hi all, I finally bought some digital calipers. They are stainless steel and pretty sharp, so I'm concerned they will damage my coins/medals. Any advice on what I can use to prevent scratches? Thank you

I usually keep an unc coin in a small LDPE bag and zero its thickness before. You ccould also use some plastic sheaths that don't give much way.

If you use your caliper on the way it is supposed to be used it will not scratch anything.

...you can run,  but you can't hide...

Just be careful. don't swing the caliper around like a hatchet. 😬

lie the caliper flat on the table with jaws open, slide coin in. measure. remove coin.
