New Catalog & Collection Tracking

Hello everyone! 

I'm not a programmer by trade, but I am learning and Ive been tinkering with a catalog system and collection tracker for a few weeks now and while its not perfect, its getting better every week. Its similar to numista in the way that there are catalog pages, with variants listed, which you can then mark as owned, unowned, wished, missing, etc. 

In your opinion, what would be some great features I could implement to set this aside from the others? What are your pain points with current systems, or features you wish were added but havent been yet? Im looking for ideas I can start to incorporate to make a well rounded piece of software. When finished this software will be released to the community for free to  use, adapt, change, take, manage etc.

You may need to release a Beta if you plan on getting any meaningful feedback.

My biggest pain point is that I barely know how to use Microsoft Access. 😅

Thats fair enough, Im not sure how doable it would be to release a beta. Currently its being set up as a web-first application. and currently has zero persistant data. just a few coins hardwired into it for testing, all added data is stored locally by your browser. In the next couple of weeks Ill get an actual database set up. Im just not sure if I want to have it be a full on website, a self hosted website, or an application. Im horrible at compiling applications for windows as I dont own a windows machine. 

Im mostly right now looking for rough issues people are running into with their collection. the “I wish this did X” sort of thing. 

Personally, running this software on my home server is much more useful for me than having an application. I can connect to the server when Im not home, instead of carrying my laptop with me. There is a good chance that I could set up a guest account or two on my current server, but it would require an agreement and an additional software layer for secure connection.
