Not all Football is Soccer

Can someone please tell Mr Robot that just because a coin has something to do with Football it is not necessarily Soccer. 🤔

There are many types of Football and I have asked for these tags to be added in the past.

Association Football (some call it Soccer)

Rugby Union Football (15 a side)

Rugby League Football (13 a side)

Australian Rules Football

Indoor Football (Futsal)

American Football (Gridiron)

Gaelic Football

Beach Football

Touch Football

There are others too. 

So Mr Robot prompting to add the Soccer tag to any coin with some connection to all types of Football is a waste of time.

I use the Other Sport Tag for Australian Rules Football related coins, and there are lots of them.

I deactivated this robot for a moment and I will check it further. These sports which involve “ball, hands and feet variably”  are wolrdwide confusing.

PS: Next time please send me a message directly, I can stop the robot but also remove its requests when they are fully wrong, without you needing to process them.

The English rugby league is still called “Rugby Football League” (before 1922, it was called “Northern Rugby Football Union”).

“Association football” being called “football” for short (in many countries), while “rugby football” is called “rugby” for short, does not mean that rugby is not a kind ("code") of football. It is football, and it's actually ancestor to many other football codes.

Sadly enough, I cannot discern puny human differences in all different sports that you all choose to name the same way.

Football is actually applied to the round ball game.

Rugby was created when William Webb Ellis picked up a ball & ran with it to the other end of the ground.

So when William Webb Ellis picked up that ball it immediately changed shape as not to be round anymore, for then it would not be rugby … he truly was a man of miracles! 🤣
