Hello! I recently created an account and thought I'd share how I've gotten into coin collecting.
When I was younger, I remember there being “interesting” coins in a jar. Stuff that would have been picked up in change. Over the years I've dabbled in collecting different things that I enjoy. Last year I was watching random stuff on YouTube, and a suggested video on coin roll hunting came up. Well, I suddenly realized what an opportunity it was to get back into finding “interesting” coins like many years ago.
I'm in Canada so have been able to nearly fill out modern Canadian coins, and have found a decent number of US coins. I've used Numista for the occasional foreign coin that comes up. I've also been going through rolls with our daughter, who enjoys finding commemoratives and older coins. So I started thinking it would be neat to try to find all coins issued in 2018. After asking around different fb groups for advice, with little luck, I ended up stumbling across the swap section of Numista. I didn't realize there was such an active swap community! So that's how I ended up creating an account.
Cheers!
