Good evening fellow forum members, through this post I request your help in creating the following section for the princely states of India, which would be:

Princely State of Buriya/Jagadhri

Source of the States:

https://jatchiefs.com/dynasties/sandhu-dynasty-states/buria/

https://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43955.0

This state would include 3 coins, one of which is already in the numismatic collection:

N#76208

Which should be moved from the Sikh Empire section to the Princely State of Buriya/Jagadhri.  Here I share some sources and screenshots where the information has been discussed. Previously, it was even categorized as the "Feudatory of Sikh-Najibabad," which was incorrect since most of the coins of this state use "Najibabad" as a pseudo-mint.

Jeevandeep M Singh is the one who created and manages the sikhcoins.in website

The other two coins are not yet in Numista, but they can be added without problems. Similarly, references to it can be found on Zeno, Facebook, and Worldcoins.eu

Greetings forum friends, I would like to know if there is a possibility of checking this please.

It seems there is not very good agreement on this place:

- KM does not list it as a Princely State

- Album recently lists it as a Princely State - https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=14098273 , but previously listed it as Maratha/Sikh - https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=5961101

- Marudhar lists it as Independent Kingdom/Sikh Feudatory - https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=10383431

Grateful for any other views from  @sujit_kumar   and others.

Hello @tdziemia & @JesúsGustavo ,

for the ips copper issue: ips issue

Create issuer "Buriya"

for the Sikh era issue:  it is an issue of the Bhang misl

Sikh confederation >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>New Issuers

regards,

Arnav

Unfortunately the practice of putting coins from the same place in two issuers (at two different times) is what we are trying  to change in the India section.

Would prefer that if we create the IPS Buriya, then the earlier coin also goes there if it was struck in the same place.

could we still make the misl issuers, and just have a period for the bhangi misl rai singh coin (under Buriya)?

It seems like a very good idea to leave it as "IPS of Buriya," and if they are coins minted in different periods, just mention it in each title or in the comments section.

Buriya has now been set up as an issuer under India > Local and Princely States, with these periods/ruler groups:

Independent Kingdom/Bhangi Misl (1764-1849)

  • Rai Song (1801-1806)

Princely State (1849-1947)

If there are corrections or additions (other rulers?)  please respond in this thread and they will be edited.

SInce the issuer is now created, I'll close this one and the parallel request by coinwalla.

Thanks for all the inputs.
