Series dedicated to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The UNESCO World Heritage Sites are places of importance to cultural or natural heritage. Cultural heritage consists of monuments, groups of buildings, and sites, while natural heritage consists of natural features, geological and physiographical formations, and natural sites which are important from the point of view of science, conservation or natural beauty.
The series consists of eleven euro coins of different denominations and composition (silver and gold), minted by the Monnaie de Paris in 2011 and 2012. The obverses depict the World Heritage Site, and the reverses depict the bird's eye perspective of UNESCO headquarters.
