New member - please help me identify my coin [opgelost]

4 berichten • 70 keer bekeken

I inherited a  bunch of coins from my father and this one has me stumped.  Here are photos of the two sides:

The diameter is 20 mm and the weight is 4.233 grams. The composition appears to be bronze given some green oxidation. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its a Roman coin, around 338-350 AD

N#161812

Anverse is the bust of Constans, with the legend: D N CONSTA-NS P F AVG

The reverse legend is FEL TEMP REPARATIO, made in Alexandria, ALEΓ means ALE for Alexandria, and the Γ is for the 3rd Officina

Great information. It all matches up. Thanks very much!
