Different currencies using the same planchets and of equal value

3 berichten • 160 keer bekeken

There have been sets of national currencies, where their coins were completely identical in every way except for the stamp used to mint them, yet said coins were part of technically-seperate currencies.

Think of the Belgian Frank and Luxembourg Franc (from 1952 onwards), or the French Franc and Saar Franc.

Are there other national currencies, current or obsolete, which would fall under this category as well?

I'm curious to learn, because the concept is fascinating to me! 😄
