How  is it  going or what's up ,  sorry for my english.

I  have  done  a gravity test of  10 Kwacha Bietschhorn coin

N#566626

Results are 28.7 gram in air and  3.4 gram in water

is  the  coin silver-coated  original or  fake?

But it is absolutely not   sterling  ag .925

Thank you for  your attention.

That gives a density of 8.44g/cc so even lower than copper.  Doubtful it is silver at all.  Did you repeat the measurements to make sure it was done right? And try it on a silver coin of known purity?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried this method on 925 and 999 coins, and the density was always around 10.2-10.6. I became suspicious because similar silver-plated coins were released this year 2004.

Could this be a counterfeit coin made at the same factory as the original 925 or is this an initial error in the information from the manufacturer? Or are counterfeiters just as easy to counterfeit coins with a colored design as without one?

Thank you.

I doubt there's counterfeiting of these coins as the volume is small.  The composition in Numista may be wrong but I really don't know.
