Could this be a proof?

I've had this coin for a long, long time, and have it listed as “proof?”, so here I am just checking if this is a proof, or just UNC. Thanks!

Definitely looks like proof. UNC coins, at least those I've seen have a very non-mirror field.

You can compare to images of different proof sets:

(Pictures are not mine. I saved them from different listings for comparison)

To be certain, also check the edge. On proof coins it should be polished as well. I don't know if it has smooth or reeded edge though (probably reeded?). If reeded it is not very useful.

Cheers!

The coin is in a 2×2 flip, so the edge is a little to see.

For modern stuff I am not sure about if its UNC or Proof, I hold them up to some text or my face and see if I can clearly read the text or see me relatively sharp. Proof like UNCs usually have a haze and you can make up most of the details but it's like you smeared grease on your mirror.

That is 100% a proof, the business strike coins have a very frosty luster to them.

I'm not used to proofs of normal curculating coins, and since I don't have anything else to compare it with, I just didn't want to assume.  Cheers!
