Does anyone know when a coin, such as the above (United Arab Emirates 1 Dirham) has Western and Islamic dates on, does that country sometimes issue two coins for one Western year when the Islamic date changes within that same year (as the Islamic calendar is not 365 days)? Or the other way round also i.e. the Islamic year coincides with two Western years.
I know there are 580 years between the two dates normally e.g. as on the above page
1415=1995 1425=2005 1426=2006 1428=2008 but then 1419=1998 on the same page.
So some years there is a lesser (or sometimes greater?) difference of years. I ask all this as in the photo below my coin has 1428=2007 on it whereas the above page says that 1428=2008
The page may just have a typing mistake, otherwise maybe an extra line needs to be added before the last entry to include the one shown ?
