What about my language

Hello, there are 22 languages to choose in your profile, but the eighth language in use on the Internet, not on the list.
Sorry for my English, but more than forty years ago to stop studying, and really express myself better in Catalan.

a frequent complaint  :(
I don't know why the list of languages is not longer or much longer. It depends of our unique programmer, Xavier, but doesn't look a major change.

The language you select in your profile tells others which language can use communicating with you. This information is very useful with foreign swappers. They want to know which language they have in common with you. For example, if you swap with an UK member, you want to know if he can understand English, Spanish or French, but you don't mind if he knows Scottish.

The current list is well adapted to the countries of Numista users. You can find here the list of users:
https://en.numista.com/forum/liste_membres.php

In this list you can see that the main languages missed in the profile are Serbo-Croatian (235 members) and Romanian (136). Near 97% of the users who have select country have an official language of their country in the profile options.

I can see Arabic in the list. If you are speaking about Catalan is #35.

Catalan, Serbian and Croatian**, Romanian, Turkish, Azebaijani and Scottish are all missing... and much more...
Regardless of the size or the perceived importance, they are all equal right languages and shall be added!

Viewing it from how many people are members on Numista from that country, makes no sense.
I want Turkish to be added not beacause I am a Turk (I am not) but I want to indicate to Turkish speaking members that we have a language in common.

What is the most annoying: that it would be a 20 minutes job to a skilled IT guy like Xavier, to add those languages!
Instead, he lets you guys (us) suffer and fight, in at least the 5th post regarding the language issue! :(

** Do not go for trouble with saying: "Serbo-Croatian", anymore! ;)

If Numista wants to be the number one coin site, we need to have not just all countries, but all languages as well!
I do not mean to add or change Numista languages.
But in personal profiles would not be difficult to add other languages for use in relationships or Messages between users.
This is not a political claim, is to facilitate relationships between collectors

This is exactly the way I understood you, and I totally agree!

I agree. It looks an easy improvement to the website.

Any chance of getting Latin added, so that I no longer have to be a one-language Brit?

It would be a cool improvement to the site. I think Xavier is in general bogged down with a lot of work to do so it can seem like a long time for things to get done.

If you speak languages that are not listed and would like it to appear on your profile page for others to see, then type it at the top of the What he/she collects part of your profile as this will be easily spotted by other users.
