Ive looked all over and cant seem to find anything about these coins any help would be awesome. They seem to be copper in color. I dont think they are gold.
Where have you found this info that thy are gold plated? I have looked all over the place and couldnt find any info on them a URl or something would be helpful.
About your bicentennial coins... I live in the USA and there are a lot of companys that do odd things with coins. They will gold plate coins or they will do painting on the coins like the state quarter and sell them as collectibles.
On E-bay I saw a set similar to yours that was gold plated and a gold plated dollar coin that didn't sell for $15.
Well the story I got from my wife is her parents baught here these way back in 1976. They baught all there kids these sets. They are denver mint coins and we do live here in denver just havnt been able to find anything about them.
