French Indochina aluminum grading

Anyone have suggestions for grading these? They don't seem to have any wear to speak of, but they are about the most poorly minted coins I've ever seen. Didn't the French have any respect for their colonies? (Joke, please don't beat me up....)

I would say VF just for the quality, but without any wear maybe it should be higher. Thanks.

By the way, I don't have much use for more than one of these. Any French Indochina collectors out there? I have about 40 coins I don't need, including about 20 zincs with a handful of readable ones.

PM me, I'm interested.
On the grade front I'd say VF+ / XF.

I would say EF / UNC, these coins are available very often in high grades.

Ok, 4 interested swappers is enough! Thanks to all for the grades and the interest :-)
Kenny, Ben, Phil, and "Moi": here are the French Indochina coins (and one cochinchine) I'm looking to swap. Plus 20-odd zinc 1/4 and 1 cent.

I'll add them to my profile so we can do some swaps.

On the PIastres, no reeded edges...

I remembered to put a couple of zinc on the scanner for the 2nd shot, some are cleaned, some aren't. I personally like the cleaned ones   :o
I'm interested too!
How would patina/toning change the grade on aluminium coins such as these?
I would think it wouldn't matter -- I don't think patina affects grade one way or the other, unless you take it off with a dremel :)
Aluminum oxide is transparent and is present on just about every piece of aluminum - it can be more visibly marked by water, which leaves fuzzy white spots.

Still, aluminum stays shiny way better than zinc does.

Aluminium gets very quickly covered by a very narrow and transparent layer of aluminium oxide which protects it from any further oxidation, which is why aluminium is not affected by the passing of time.
