Exactly - that is also what I thought (but could not find), and also Tibet, and Indian Princely States; but I have seen a similar coin on here - just cannot remember from where.  8.

Probably a contemporary copy of an Islamic Dirhem.

monephil is right, this coin is from Medieval Iran / Northern Africa (Islamic caliphates on Numista). Don't have references though.

It's Kufic, the Arabic script before 1200 AD.

The Bismilah text is in the outer legend in obverse of this felus. Kufic is not easy to understand.

The date is at obverse in the inner marginal legend between 3 and 12:00. It's 337 AH = 948 AD
