Spiel Munze tokens?

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about Spiel Munze tokens.  I seem to have come across one.  How old are these?  What were they used for?  What is the collector's market for these?

I noticed a bunch on eBay of G. Washington.  Mine seems to be an older Liberty Head design with the Shield Eagle from the old US quarters.  I apologize for no pictures.  Any info would be appreciated.  I'd never heard of these before today.

Spiel Münze directly translates to Game Coin (play money). I have seen from the mid 1700s up to modern. They were used for board games, card games, and teaching children about money.
