Central American Republic, 4 Reales

4 berichten
I just posted this coin, I could not find any info on it anywhere, sadly the date on mine has been rubbed off. Any info on this coin would be great.

This coin is interesting because it has been hand struck, you can still see the marks where they cut out the planchet, and the two sides do not line up like most coins.

I also have no idea what the value might be, I know this coin is in rough shape but it seems very rare.

Thanks so much for your help
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Anyone have any input?

I did not find it in the catalogs. I "verified" it as good as possible (see entry: pattern?).
that is - I think it is a pattern of some sort. you wouldn't have 4 reales in copper. they're silver coins.
copper is too inexpensive to be meant as legal tender with such a denomination.
I googled that, too - but did not find anyone that shares this coin with you
Is this a pattern strike?  how much might it be worth?  it must be ultra rare because I cant find anything about it.
