UK coins 1952 and 1953

2 berichten
For the UK in the late forties and early fifties, coins had a few changes and KM numbers ...
1946 Last year for silver coins
1947 First year for cupro-nickel coins
1948 Last year for IND:IMP on coins
1949 First year without IND:IMP on coins
1952 Last year with George VI on coins
1953 First year with Elizabeth II on coins
1953 Last year with BRITT:OMN on coins
1954 First year without BRITT:OMN on coins
Those are just notes for me to refer to.
In 1952 some coins were not issued e.g. the ultra rare Penny, and English Shilling, and Half Crown; and if I am correct the Scottish Shilling was not issued at all.

(KM#869) Penny has 1952 on there (with Mintage figure of 1 and the note of ultra rare;unique)
This entry is correct - though everything else below needs amending, if someone could kindly check.

(KM#876) English Shilling should this also have the same indication as the Penny?

(KM#877) Scottish Shilling I think should have 1952 removed

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1296.html
(KM#869) Half Crown has 1952 on there (with no Mintage figure, and no note of ultra rare;unique)
Also this was never issued as Proof - I think.

Then for 1953 the new Elizabeth II coins were only issued for that one year (with BRITT:OMN) before they were redesigned without BRITT:OMN in 1954 - hence also different KM numbers.
For the Half Penny I think these need changing ...

(KM#882) 1953 only. No notes against date.

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5824.html
(KM#896) 1954-1970 though the page says 1953-1970. There are notes against 1953 of Cross at bead, and also Cross between beads.
So can the 1953 notes be transferred from KM#896 to KM#882 and then 1953 removed from KM#896 ?
And while there also remove Rare from 1954 1955 1956 as Mintage does not agree with those notes ?
Also the picture shows a 1958 coin but the lettering reads 1963.
Then finally for KM#896 please add for 1957 that there are two versions - normal sea and calm sea.

(KM#907) Half Crown - as above in that 1953 is listed here when it should be only KM#893

Thanks :)

P.S. If anyone wants to add them, I think the Half Crown Mintages for KM#879 are ...
  1949  28,272,512    1950  28,335,500    1951  9,003,520    1952  1or2 known
and 1950 Proof  17,513    1951 Proof  20,000  (not sure if there were 1949 Proof)
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
* George VI Penny - added Proof & Matte entries, corrected mintages
* English Shilling: don't see what's missing - please help me
* Scottish Shilling: corrected and added Proof & Matte entries
* according to catalog, the half crown was issued 1952 both in reported mintage of "1" - hence "ultra rare",
a Proof issue seems to exist at least
* Elizabeth II halfpenny : added Proof & Matte entries, corrected mintages
* Elizabeth II halfpenny : transferred 1953 to above (with comments); added calm/normal sea variety,
  added Proof entries
* Elizabeth II half crown : transferred 1953;  added Proof entries

As you can see there's a lot of unverified stuff in UK coinage. We are far from being finished here.
So you will find a lot of errors - even in presumably completed / verified coins. because we have
to add Proof entries to them - which isn't done yet.
Thanks for your help - keep it up ... and have some patience - we try to cope with UK coins soon  0:)
