Thank you in advance for your help

Citeer: KPatorxThis is a trade token. It's used for getting goods from a certain person or company, but the coin could only be spent with that certain person or company. Here's what Wikipedia has to say about these tokens:Patrick that was awesome info thank you very much! At least I have a time line to go with now. Hopefully there is somewhere or someone that will tie the "G" to a specific area or something of that sort so that I can have a better knowledge of this token. I really do appreciate the help and I will definitely look over that link you gave me and see if it leads to somewhere else. I guess for now would it be safe to call this a "1870-1920 "G" 5¢ Trade Token" or do you have a better idea for a name for it or what collectors would refer to this as?
"Generally they have a merchant's name or initials, sometimes a town and state, and a value, such as "good for 5¢" (or other denomination) legend somewhere on the token."
I have no idea if the G on the coin is of a town, company, or person, though. Hope that helps a bit.
-Patrick
Edit: Further reading reveals that these were most commonly used from 1870 - 1920. Here's the link in case I missed anything: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Token_coin
