Citeer: radrick007My submission would the UK KM#744 Victorian "Gothic" Crown
Oh how I would like to own one of these (in my dreams!)
Agreed! I show in the thread https://en.numista.com/forum/topic2633.html the two I have - one is a reproduction, and the other is a rather large one, which I am still not sure what it is for/from.
Also - thank you for what you wrote in the 'Coin from Ukraine' topic
The UK has the best overall coin issue. A plethora of designs, all beautifuly engraved. Even our daily circulation varies from year to year, and predecimalisation we had different designs fo the different countries with made up the Kingdom. This year the fifty pence coins are being produced in various designs celebrating next years Olympic games, and they are so sought after by the public at large that very few remain in circulation for long!
have a bunch of beautiful coins in may collection,
has nothing to do with countries. To me, all the
merit goes to the engraver and the subjet,
I find my ships and boats magnificents.
Chasinva, le voyageur takes me to the
inmensity and silence of Canada.

yes, this is what a good coin design should do. It should evoke something special about the country that shows some imagination and artistry.
I find most european, american and english coins over rated and boring. Although the modern danish coins are not bad. I don't post picks, they are on this site already.
