When I received this coin, it was identified as:

1927D 5 Mark Von Hindenburg Pattern

I have not been able to find any reference to/for this coin.  Any help would be greatly appreciated ..

Metal:  Silver
Weight:  More than 20g (limit of my scales)
Ø:  36.14mm
Thickness:  2.77mm

This is a silver medal commemorating President Hindenburg's 80th anniversary.

The medal corresponds in weight (25 g) and silver content to 5 Reichsmark, therefore could circulate as a coin.

These Medals/5 Reichsmark quite often appear at auctions in Germany and Austria. Here is a page from Krause  Unusual Coins (4th edition)

IMHO the current price should be at least two times higher than the catalog indicates, though at bigger auctions it sells usually even higher.
