The letters on the second image, are look incuse, are they?
It looks like the letters "REPU", in reverse and upside down.
So to me it looks like the coin you have may have been stamped with a coin, rather than the die, and then restamped with the die. So you have a (mirror) image of the coin's obverse on your coin's reverse.
(Sorry I don't know the correct terminology here, but hopefully I'm clear enough in what I'm saying)
Basically, I think your coin has been struck twice, the first time had the previous coin stuck to the die, the second strike was with just the die.
