Unfortunately my camara's macro function does not have high enough resolution capability for coins.  All of the lettering and images are easily legible with a magnifying glass.  There is nothing that is illegible. There is a slight nick of the rim on the back side of the coin at 11 o'clock.  This coin definitely has been circulated, however I believe it may have been taken out of circulation circa 1852-53 by my great great grandfather.

It is such a beautiful coin and one rich with the history of an almost forgotten time, but apparently it has very little value as a collector's item.  I was surprised to see there is one for sale since I presumed it to be fairly obscure. I wonder how many of the original 103,000 are still extant.  There must be a mathematical formula to estimate that number.
