The date on top is 1914 and at the bottom 1916. Please note that the figures of the date below are slightly smaller than on the Belgian Congo coin mint in Brussels, which makes me think that I have a zinc pattern struck in Birmingham in 1914 for future zinc 10 centimes coin of Belgian Congo, the coin which never went into production. Future 10 centimes coins were struck in Birmingham in 1917 and 1919 with smaller dates, but in copper-nickel. Was this a rejected metal try?
Has anybody seen such a pattern, maybe in some Belgian catalogue, or seen it sold at some auction?
